Schoolsgirls playing football is on the rise in Preston thanks to a new initiative by The Football Association.
The new SSE’s Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre at the UCLan Sports Arena provides a safe place for schoolgirls to engage in football and offers fun, engaging training sessions.
The sessions take place on a weekly basis, on Saturday mornings, and aim to help girls develop fundamental skills, learn new things and create the foundation for a lifelong love of football.
Cian McEvoy, UCLan Football Development Officer, says; “We are delighted to be a key partner in the FA’s initiative to encourage more girls into football. This project was built on the success we’ve already had through the STFPSC to boost sport participation in the community and increase the number of women and girls in Preston who play football”.
