Dozens of firefighters tackle a blaze in Preston town center early hours of Sunday morning.…
Away day blues continue for Preston North End as the club loses on the road for the third game running.
North End have lost all of their away games so far this season, with this weekend’s result making it back to back 2-0 defeats.
Arguably in all of those defeats, including today’s fixture, Preston had the opportunity to earn more from those results.
However that made little difference to Derby County, as Mason Mount and Richard Keogh provided the goals that won the game for the Rams.
Chelsea loanee Mount gave the home-side the lead, after striking home following David Nugent’s cross 38 minutes in.
Prior to Mount’s goal the Lilywhites could have easily taken the lead through chances created for Lukas Nmecha and Callum Robinson.
Robinson and Graham Burke both had efforts saved from outside of the box in the second half.
But, it was Derby that grabbed the next goal through Keogh’s header.
The result continues Preston’s misery at Pride Park, having not won a league game there in 16 years.
Final Score: Derby 2 – 0 PNE
