Preston North End's Eoin Doyle has many potential suitors following a successful loan spell at…
Preston North End had a man sent off while having to fight for a point during an even game against
Championship rivals Bolton.
Five points separated the two teams prior to kick off but even though that gap remains the same, PNE are now 12 places behind their Lancashire neighbours after the result.
North End got off to a great start at Deepdale, scoring two goals within the first 17 minutes of the game.
Callum Robinson opened the scoring with a cool finish after dancing around Bolton ‘keeper Ben Alnwick.
The lead was then doubled five minutes later by Alan Browne’s volley, which was simply stunning to watch.
PNE manager Alex Neil would have been pleased with his team’s performance for most of the second half, but two goals before the half-time whistle let Bolton back into the game.
Sammy Ameobi scored his first league goal this season just seven minutes prior to the break, allowing his team to finally get a foothold in the game.
Then three minutes later the home advantage had gone completely, as Pawel Olkowski scored off the underside of Paul Rudd’s crossbar.
The second half seemed to favour the away side who had created the better of the opportunities in after the break.
Bad then turned worse for Preston North End, with Ben Pearson getting himself sent off deep into added time for violent conduct.
Final Score: PNE 2 – 2 Bolton
