Alex Neil last night admitted that he chose to employ a high-risk strategy in his team’s defeat to Leeds United.
Preston North End finished the fixture with a 3-0 loss against the Championship’s only unbeaten side, which actually put Leeds top of the table.
However, North End have already beaten Leeds at Elland Road this season in the League Cup.
Neil felt that his side was capable of sticking with the same blueprint for last night’s fixture.
The PNE manager said, ‘We came here and adopted a high-risk strategy and pressed like we did in the Cup where we won, purely because when opportunities came along we made good use of the ball and scored vital goals, but tonight we didn’t do that.’
Last night’s defeat leaves Preston just one point off of the bottom of the table, with only Ipswich currently under them.
