The UK High Court is expecting a glamorous guest - Katie Price. The star is…
A Preston mother that is on trial for the manslaughter of her 19-month-old daughter has been reported as murmuring ‘it was her fault’.
PC Rachel Scott told Liverpool Crown Court today that Lauren Coyle was ‘murmuring’ that ‘she felt it was her fault and that people would blame her.’
Coyle is being tried for the manslaughter of Ellie-May alongside her boyfriend Reece Hitchcott and friend Connor Kirby.
As we reported earlier this week, the court heard that the infant was restrained face down in her bed which led to a restriction of her breathing.
The court also heard that Ellie-May’s bed had been turned into a ‘monstrous cage’ according to the prosecution.
The trio has all denied charges of child cruelty.
PC Scott told the court, ‘during the time in the family room Lauren continuously blamed herself for Ellie-May’s death’.
PC Scott also stated, ‘Lauren was clearly shaken and seemed reluctant to get into the ambulance. I sat in the ambulance while staff continued to administer CPR.’
Ellie-May was pronounced dead at Royal Preston Hospital after the paramedics applied CPR to attempt her revival several times on the way.
