Preston's getting a Cat Cafe - and it opens at the end of August! Dave…
Morrisons has applied to convert part of its car park into a Starbucks drive-thru outlet.
Proposals from ELG Planning have been submitted to Preston City Council.
The plans outline how dozens of spaces on the eastern edge of the car park would be built on for the Starbucks unit.
If it were to be built the coffee shop would be situated close to the car park entrance and exit just opposite Mothercare.
The planning application states: “The proposals will facilitate the redevelopment of an under-utilised area of the existing Morrisons car park and will therefore promote the more efficient use of a previously developed and highly accessible site within the main urban area.
“The application proposals will also provide enhanced local facilities for local residents, shoppers and motorists on Riversway and would generate a number of job opportunities for local people and the employment, and economic benefits associated with the proposals should be afforded significant weight in the assessment of the proposals.”
The full plans can be seen on the city council website.
