Family run business GOS Heating is celebrating 50 years of providing services to residents and businesses in Preston.
Starting off as a small father and son operation, GOS Heating has grown into one of Preston’s largest employers.
According to GOS Heating CEO Peter Jackson, ‘it all started in 1979 when my father got me an apprenticeship with Sir Tom Finney.
‘I moved on to my father’s company GOS heating, where 10 years later I took on the company and brought it to where it is today.’
The firm services thousands of homes across Lancashire and Preston, priding themselves on supporting the most vulnerable in the community, focusing on giving quality service, particularly to older customers.
One customer, from Lytham St Annes said, ‘I can’t fault anything done by GOS Heating Ltd. They are the most competent company I have dealt with in a long time and they are extremely clean and tidy. I’m so happy that I’m getting them out to do some more work’
Part of GOS Heating’s success has come from a strong belief in supporting the community with charity events and fundraisers, having raised thousands of pounds just over the last few years.
Peter, who has been joined in the business by his wife, brother, son and five other family members, making it three generations of Jacksons devoted to getting the job right, said, ‘We’ve come along way since the early days, from being a sole trader to now employing more than 40 people.
‘I hope you can be a part of our next fifty years, gas engineers and customers, thank you very much’.
