Fives on Guildhall Street has closed down by Simon Rigby following a more “Hands on” approach from the multi-millionaire.
Rigby bought the building in 2016 and had previously let Fives to Shaun Patchett, however, there were changes to this agreement before Christmas.
BlogPreston reported that Simon Rigby told them, ‘Yes, Fives has closed. We rolled our sleeves up and worked hard over the holidays to ensure no one was disappointed.
However, we have been unable to agree terms with Shaun and therefore have decided to re-let Fives.’
This news comes shortly after Rigby’s claims that he wants to return to his role as a landlord, rather than dealing with the everyday handling of businesses such as Fives, Vittorias or Review.
It’s understood that all staff at Fives have been offered positions within Simon’s group of companies.
Rigby has noted that he’s taking time to find a strong partner to develop Fives, with the popular bar hopefully re-opening one day soon.
In the meanwhile, Preston foodies are still waiting on news of an ‘exciting national-chain’ that will be filling Vittorias’ void after the Italian restaurant closed at the end of last year.
