Tragic news today has revealed that a crash on the M58 has killed a woman and a 14-year-old boy.
The incident happened at 9am, Tuesday 8th of January, involving a heavy goods vehicle, a minibus, and several other vehicles.
It is unknown how many people were injured during the collision, but it is thought several other people were seriously injured.
A police spokesperson said, ‘We are working closely with partner agencies and the motorway remains closed in both directions for accident investigations. Diversions are in place.’
Traffic was diverted from the M58 to the M6, causing traffic delays.
The spokesperson continues, ‘Our thoughts are with all of those affected by today’s tragic incidents’.
Police have also said, ‘anyone who is concerned that someone they know may have been involved and who needs to speak to police should call 101 quoting log number 0523 of today (Tuesday, January 8th).’
‘Anyone with information about either collision should call 101 quoting log number 275 of today (Tuesday, January 8th).’
