A Fylde-coast park will be receiving almost one and a half million pounds investment from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Fairhaven Lake and Gardens on the Fylde coast has been announced as one of the six lucky recipients of a huge payout to help continue public space’s use in the community.
The Heritage Lottery Fund said, ‘Parks have been home to the spirit of innovation and enterprise down the years, with numerous community and commercial activities taking place within them.’
‘Public parks are crucial community spaces, well-used and much-loved by people from all walks of life and full of memories. The role they play in physical and mental wellbeing is indispensable.’
A total of £13.8 million is expected to be paid out across the six recipients of the funding, of which Fairhaven Lake and Gardens will gain £1.47 million.
Fairhaven Lake and Gardens gives local residents the opportunity to play tennis, golf and bowls throughout the year while also providing areas for children’s play.
