Following an appeal by Preston Police to find more information on a number of burglaries a 42-year-old man has now been arrested.
Police launched the appeal yesterday afternoon, and quickly found members of the community were keen to help.
The initial appeal had told members of the public, ‘Neighbourhood officers have met with community leaders to discuss the issue and after feedback from those present and other members of the community affected by the burglaries, measures have been put in place to increase police engagement with the community.’
Following the appeal Preston Police announced on Twitter, ‘Following an earlier CCTV appeal in relation to burglaries in the Frenchwood area of Preston. A male has approached us this evening and is assisting us with our investigation. Thank you for sharing!’
Chief Inspector Gary Crowe has continues to insist that public should not take the law into their own hands, and if they see anything suspicious they should report it to the police via calling 101 or reporting online.
