South Ribble Police received a surge of calls last night (7 February) with complaints about groups of youths in Penwortham.
The neighbourhood team have begun a variety of procedures to tackle the anti-social behaviour within Kingsfold, Penwortham.
South Ribble Police stated “We would like to reassure residents that all information received is being acted up and taken into account as we try to deal with this ongoing issue.
“We ask for your cooperation as we try to tackle the issue to ensure the safety of everyone in and around the area.”
One person wrote online that the increase of anti-social behaviour could be due to a lack of policing. They also stated that “they’re probably good kids under all this, but maybe they’re bored.
“Kingsfold has doubled in size, new homes and a supermarket. There is nowhere for them to play.”
Another person said, “Great that something is happening to address the issues.”
The consensus on the matter involves investing in the youth and giving them somewhere to go during the evening, people of Penwortham believe the issues are deriving from youths having nothing to do but walking the streets.
