Man Found Guilty Of Stabbing Another Behind Bargain Booze In Penwortham

A Penwortham man has been convicted of stabbing another man, who was homeless and living in a tent.

Lee Woods was named in court recently as the victim. He was living in a tent near to Bargain Booze in Penwortham when his ex-girlfriend’s partner stabbed him.

According to court reports, William Burgess – The man accused of stabbing Woods – is the current partner of Woods’ ex-girlfriend. The two had an altercation one evening, despite previously being friends. Woods received a one-inch stab wound and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

Burgess was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm at Preston Crown Court on 15th March.
