There are several flood warnings in place for Preston.
Earlier today (16th), news broke that the River Ribble had burst its bank. In the Ribble Valley, Whalley and Waddington have suffered small issues of flooding and Sawley Road was closed off.
Warnings are currently (As of 3pm) in place for Walton-Le-Dale as well as Samlesbury, Brokholes Brown and the Brockholes Reserve.
The Flooding Information Service website says; “due to the rising levels of the River Ribble, flooding of property and roads and farmland is expected or possible between 2pm until the evening”.
“We expect river levels to remain until this evening. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses”.
