The boyfriend of a murdered mother from Preston has admitted that he killed her.
Rosie Darbyshire was found dead on the 7th February 2019 by emergency services that were called to an incident close to the junction with Village Drive, Preston.
Ben Topping, Rosie’s former partner, was arrested and charged within 24 hours of her death.
Topping was originally meant to offer a plea to Preston Crown Court on 12th April but, following an application from barristers, the case would be heard on the 23rd May.
Appearing in court today, Topping has admitted to murdering the 27-year-old mother.
From Ribbleton, Preston, Rosie was, and still, is an incredibly popular character in the area. A candlelight vigil followed Rosie’s death while tributes were also paid to her during a Preston North End game earlier this year.
