Facebook is always in the news nowadays, with data breaches, privacy concerns and social media scandals constantly circulating.
However, this time, Facebook intends to make waves in a new sector of the world wide web; Dating.
Mark Zuckerberg’s latest innovation on his social media platform is bringing people even closer together than ever. Facebook dating is designed to make those friends much more than just platonic relationships; instead making them into boyfriends and girlfriends.
Facebook ‘Secret Crush’ is aimed at connecting those friends that have always been on each others’ radar, but either never had the balls to tell each other, or never had the inclination that there was any interest there.
Secret crush will allow you to select 10 people that you ‘fancy’ and then check if any of those 10 lucky people are feeling the same about you. Should that be the case, you’ll be notified of each other’s mutual interest and you can sort out a date to see whether your future together. Should you not match, have no fear, your crush won’t be notified, so you’re safe to wallow in self pity.
Whilst there are plenty of other dating apps like Tinder, Bumble and if you’re into it, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Secret Crush hopes to find a niche market in connecting people even closer through their pre-existing connections.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure how I feel about Facebook knowing even more about me. Who knows what they could do with this extra piece of information?
Facebook Secret Crush will be rolled out this coming Summer in the UK.
