A Preston woman was arrested for possession of a knuckleduster following a neighbourhood dispute.
Kelly Ann Batty, 43, was arrested on 1st June on Park Close in Ribbleton. Batty “Struggled” with the officer attempting to arrest her. The officer then found the offending weapon on her.
Officers were called after a personal argument started between Batty and a neighbour. According to the Police officer’s statement, Batty “Didn’t stop when asked and there was a long struggle”.
Batty’s solicitor answered back and said that she pledged guilty at the first opportunity and she believed she had a reason for carrying the weapon.
The Judge sentenced her to a 12 month community order with a 30 day rehabilitation order. She must also pay a £50 fine and £85 court costs.
