Preston Police believe a thief has received a good sentence, after appearing at Preston Crown Court.
Shane Jones, a 46-year-old man from Butler Street, was found guilty and sentenced to two years and 10 months behind bars for burglary.
Jones burgled a property in Blackpool Road, Preston in May of this year.
After the sentencing, Preston Police was satisfied that the punishment will act as a deterrent and will prevent Jones from committing any more offences.
A spokesman said, “Following an investigation led by South Burglary Team In July, Shane Jones, 46, of Butler Street, Preston was sentenced to two years 10 months at Preston Crown Court for a dwelling burglary at Blackpool Road, Preston, in May.
“Whilst the victim was out Jones used a brick to smash his way in through a window, gaining entry to the premises and stealing valuables. Jones was forensically linked to the burglary.
“A good sentence that will prevent Jones from committing any further crime.”
