Preston North End are thought to have broken their transfer record for 20-year-old Coventry midfielder Tom Bayliss.
North End is yet to confirm the fee paid for Bayliss, but, insiders have led us to believe that a record transfer for the club was made at around £2million.
The signing of the young playmaker quickly follows a loan deal for Aston Villa’s 21-year-old winger Andre Green, which was announced last night (1st August).
Bayliss told pnefc.net, “As soon as I heard about the interest I couldn’t wait to get here and get the deal done and meet the gaffer and I can’t wait to get started now.
“The sheer size of the stadium as we pulled on to the car park, it’s massive. It’s a massive club and I just can’t wait to show what I can do now.
“The gaffer knows what qualities I’ve got and he thinks he can hone in on those skills and make me a better player and be able to play week in, week out at this level.”
Alex Neil bemoaned the lack of transfer activity a few days ago, claiming the team would be left ‘light’ if no new faces came to Deepdale.
The boss will be much more satisfied now, having picked up two quality young players in 24 hours.
