A new cafe looks set to join Miller Arcade and the man behind the plan claims “High end, beautiful food” will be served.
The cafe, currently unnamed, will take the place of “Changing Room”, a fashion shop at the Birley Street end of the Miller Arcade. Changing Room lasted several weeks during the summer of 2018 and attempted to sell womens clothes.
The cafe will fact the flag market and stand next to Roni’s Barbers and Heavenly Desserts.
Loe Design are the agent behind the proposals. They claim; “The café proposal will offer high end design, beautiful food and coffee with a healthy undertone. This could be the pull that this street needs.
This café will bring a bright and sunny vibe to the historical arcade, providing a new cornerstone food outlet and destination for Preston.”
The proposal further states that Birley Street will see more footfall which will enhance the local area.
The cafe will have tables outside for people to sit down. The cafe would open from 9.30am-7pm daily.
Miller Arcade, Preston’s first indoor shopping centre, was constructed in 1899 and modelled on the larger Burlington Arcade in London.
