A Lancashire Housing Charity, based in Preston, providing accommodation for the homeless and vulnerable adults has gone into liquidation.
Methodist Action (North West) LTD, with it’s head office at Lune Street in Preston, has at least 150 tenants who are now thought to be at risk.
The charity serves Preston, South Ribble and Lancaster and announced the news earlier this week. It’s thought that financial pressures is the reason behind the liquidation.
An announcement said; “The board of Methodist Action North West met on Monday evening with an insolvency practitioner and, in view of the financial position, has resolved to place the charity into voluntary liquidation.
All creditors and interested parties will be notified directly. The board is acting urgently with local authorities and others to preserve the interests of our tenants.”
Methodist Action (North West) LTD describe themselves as; “an award winning charity that supports the homeless and disadvantaged across Lancashire, continuing the work of Preston’s Central Methodist Church which began in 1978.”
In 2015, their “Empty Homes” programme renovated 107 properties and brought 222 bedroom spaces back into use.
