Preston’s Neighbourhood Policing Team have been encouraging kids to learn life support skills and the dangers of knife crime.
Last month, 16 incidents of individuals being caught in Preston City Centre were reported.
Knife crime has become an increasing concern for members of the public and especially parents, who have seen young people around the country losing their lives through knife crime.
Now Preston’s police are spending time in the community speaking to young people about recognising the dangers.
A social media post from Preston Police said, “Preston Neighbourhood Policing Team were joined by our colleagues from St John Ambulance today to assist with a Street Smart Kids Summer Holiday Workshop, run by Red Kite Muaythai Boxing Studio on Fylde Road.
“Children and young people attending the event were given some Muaythai training and some training in basic life support, as well as a talk about knife crime and consequence.”
