Mild summer temperatures will be the theme for the rest of the week in Preston and the rest of the North West.
The Met Office has said they expect some rainfall throughout the rest of the week, with the heaviest fall on the higher ground tomorrow.
However, temperatures are expected to stay in the low 20s for the rest of the week, peaking around 26°C on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Met Office said, “A band of rain will continue to sink southwards this evening and overnight, heavy and persistent over higher ground of Cumbria.
“The rain easing towards dawn. It will be a windy night, especially around coasts and hills. Minimum temperature 11 °C.
“(On Thursday) A cloudy morning, with further outbreaks of patchy rain at times.
“The rain will return northwards, where heavy at times, especially on hills. Becoming drier and brighter in the south. Maximum temperature 21 °C.”
Friday will be slightly cloudy to start, but, will become sunnier while the day goes on. The weekend is expected to become ‘very warm’.
