Preston North End manager Alex Neil believes tonight’s opponents will a tougher test than the table suggests.
Bottom-of-the-table Stoke City will travel to Deepdale today to play against North End in the fourth round of Championship games.
So far, the away side has managed just one point from three games; after losing to both Queen’s Park Rangers and Charlton and drawing with Derby County last weekend.
Commenting on Stoke’s season so far, Neil said, “Having watched their games, I think they are very unfortunate that they have not got more points on the board.
The way they have gone about it and the way that they have played has certainly merited more points than what they have got”.
The home side sits six places ahead of the Potters but have only picked up three points from the opening three league games.
This game presents an opportunity to continue building on home form for Preston, which by the look of things early on, will be essential.
