Brazil Refuse Aid From UK and G7 After Accusations Of Wanting To Take Control

Brazil has refused almost £20million in aid from G7 meetings as the Brazillian Government tells Emmanuel Macron to take care of his own ‘colonies’ instead.

The Brazillian President’s chief of staff has refused aid from the group and told Globo news, “Thanks, but maybe those resources are more relevant to reforest Europe.

“Macron cannot even avoid a predictable fire in a church that is part of the world’s heritage, and he wants to give us lessons for our country?”

Macron announced after a G7 summit meeting involving the UK and the United States of America that £18million of aid would be provided to help tackle record-breaking forest fires in the Amazon.

According to Space, NASA has been tracking the fires using a Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), which has found the highest amount of fires detected since 2010.

Brazil’s foreign minister, Ernesto Araujo, seems to suggest that the aid is actually an attempt to ‘fabricate a crisis’ so that external political powers can gain control in the Amazonian region.

Arujo tweeted, “Efforts of some political currents to extrapolate real environmental issues into a fabricated ‘crisis’ as a pretext for introducing mechanisms for external control of the Amazon are very evident”
