Longridge Road is still temporarily closed between the Crematorium and Bluebell Way after a blaze at Recycling Lives raged throughout the night.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue sent 7 fire engines out to Longridge Road last night at 10.20pm.
Last night (30th), Lancashire Fire and Rescue issued this tweet;
We’re currently dealing with a fire on Longridge Road, Preston. The fire has caused a lot of smoke in the area therefore residents are required to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed. Thank you. https://t.co/PRKly6s9AE

They later tweeted this video of the fire blazing.
We’ve got seven fire engines and two special appliances at a fire in Preston this evening. There are road closures in place and we’re likely to be at the scene throughout the night. pic.twitter.com/KAXPWMEXQi

Recycling Lives also issued this statement;
A fire at our Preston Recycling Park overnight has now been brought under control thanks to the efforts of Lancs Fire & Rescue and our own teams.
We are now reviewing our procedures and will work alongside the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.

Residents were advised to stay indoors during the blaze. It’s thought that firemen are to remain on site throughout the day.
