Tributes have been paid to a popular Penwortham man and father who passed away last week.
Paul Fletcher was found in Hill Road Cemetary on the morning of September 2nd.
His passing came as a painful shock to the community and of course to Paul’s family, who have received an outpouring of support from local people.
Paul worked as a gravedigger for Penwortham Town Council, who said he was a ‘very dear friend’ and will be ‘greatly missed’.
Today Paul’s passing is particularly significant, as the world observes Suicide Prevention Day.
Now, in his memory, Pristine Car Wash and Preston Hub are supporting a fundraising campaign for mental health charity, Lancashire Mind.
A JustGiving page has been launched, alongside a raffle ticket sale, to raise money for the organisation which aims to raise awareness of mental health to improve mental wellbeing in Lancashire.
A spokesman for Pristine said, “In memory of our dear friend Paul Fletcher, Preston Hub and Pristine Car Wash are fundraising for Lancashire Mind.
“Raffle tickets will be on sale throughout September at Pristine Car Wash & Valeting Centre, £1 a strip. We’re collecting prizes from local businesses with a list to be announced next week.
“September is Suicide Awareness Month. We need to remind people that it’s okay not to be okay. Talking about mental health can go a long way and we hope to raise awareness as a result of this fundraiser.”
You can support the campaign by donating to JustGiving here or take a trip down to Pristine Car Wash on Leyland Road to pick up a strip of raffle tickets!
