Make some outdoor plans for your weekend, because the Met Office predicts a late-summer surge of sunshine from Friday.
After the school holidays coming to an end for another year and August coming to a close, we were expecting some wet and windy weather for the start of autumn.
However, the Met Office has predicted that the end of the week will see dry and bright weather, warming up into Sunday.
Today, Preston will see highs around 17°C and the temperature will stay in the teens overnight.
Tomorrow, Lancashire residents will endure some pretty typical weather for the region. A Met Office spokesman predicts Thursday will see, “a fine start, rain and brisk winds will move into Cumbria and Lancashire during the morning, slowly easing later.”
The Outlook improves along with that Friday feeling as “dry and bright weather will dominate over the coming days.”
The spokesman added, “Chilly nights are likely but day time temperatures will increase a little each day, becoming quite warm by Sunday.”
Temperatures will peak between 18°C and 19°C over Saturday and Sunday.
