Daniel Johnson has enjoyed a great start to the season, picking up the first Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.
The Jamaican midfielder has enjoyed playing in a more advanced position so far this season, picking up four goals and three assists in five games.
DJ beat out Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor, Swansea City’s Mike van der Hoorn and Brentford forward Ollie Watkins in the shortlist for the award.
There is a still long way to go according to Johnson, who also has credited his teammates for the recognition he is now receiving.
He said, “On a personal level I am happy to get the award, but without the boys this wouldn’t have been achievable, so credit to them as well.
“I have been really pleased with the start of the season, but there is still a long way to go; hopefully I can keep this form up and continue to help the team.
“I like to play in that position higher up the pitch, where I can contribute with assists and goals.”
