Police are warning residents of Ribbleton and Grimsargh that seems to be an escalation in theft-related crimes.
Cars in Ribbleton have been targetted in the last few weeks, as thieves are breaking into vehicles to steal valuable items from the inside.
Meanwhile, sheds and garages in the Grimasargh area have also been targetted by thieves.
A Message To Ribble Residents:
A spokesman for Preston Police said, “Attention all Ribbleton residents! We are concerned about a recent escalation in vehicle crime in the Ribbleton area.
“We have had numerous incidents involving car windows being smashed and then broken in to that have occurred in the last day. We believe that the incidents are connected and would like to appeal for any information you may have.
“You can report this via 101 or our online reporting tool which can be found on our website. Alternatively independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
For Grimsargh Residents:
A spokesman for Preston Police said, “Please be aware that we have had a number of reports overnight of several Sheds and Garages being broken into around the village.
“We would like to remind residents to remain vigilant while checking and reviewing the security of your property.
“The incidents have occurred overnight 9th Oct into the 10th Oct and we would ask any residents with CCTV to review their systems and check for any footage that may assist us.
“If any residents feel they have footage that may assist us then please contact 101.”
