Lancashire Fire and Rescue are opening an investigation into a blaze at a derelict Preston public house.
Around 12pm today, two fire crews were called to Manchester Road in Preston after a call suggested the upstairs part of a derelict public house was alight.
The empty property, known locally as the recent Beat Street Café Bar, is a known spot for squatters and had become alight upstairs.
Firefighters entered the building to put out the blaze which took less than 10 minutes.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue admitted that the building is derelict, and that rubbish and light materials had been set ablaze.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue confirmed that they believe the fire was deliberate and will begin an investigation into what happened.
