On Friday 18th October there will be a charity football match between Preston based furniture companies Plumbs and Tetrad. The idea was originally presented by Marcus Schofield, a Plumbs apprentice, and has been arranged via their shared apprenticeship company, North Lancs Training Group.
The companies will be playing in aid of Preston Panthers, a charity who provide local disabled children with access to a range of sports across the area. As part of Lancashire Boys and Girls Club, the choice of charity ensures that all money raised will be used locally – benefitting the community surrounding both the players and businesses.
Both Plumbs and Tetrad have deep manufacturing roots in the area, and have been part of the furniture manufacturing industry in the heart of Preston since the mid-twentieth century. The football match is guaranteed to be a display of local sportsmanship, with a friendly touch of rivalry.
Said Plumbs Manging Director, Sarah Page, ‘We’re delighted to be supporting such a positive charity through this upcoming football match – especially as their work is focused in the local area. With Preston’s manufacturing history the game seems like a great way to do some fundraising, all whilst having some fun. I know the Plumbs team are all looking forward to the event – may the best team win!’
With an aim to raise £750, all support is greatly appreciated and donations can be made at the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/nltg-apprentice-football-match
The game will be held on Friday 18th October with a 3pm kick off. Any coverage of the game and all spectators are welcome.
