A new Co-Op could be coming to Garstang Road at the junction of Lytham Road if proposals are approved by Preston City Council.
The Co-Op have approached Preston City Council to hold a license to trade in the building formerly occupied by Checo’s restaurant.
The building has stood empty since November 2017 when the eatery closed down. Staff at the time were told about the closure via text message.
An addition of the Co-Op would bring a new convenience store to the area and would provide commuters with an opportunity to stop and grab lunch by parking in the nearby car park.
Co-Op have submitted proposals which state the store would be open from 6am until 11pm daily and would be selling alcohol from the premises.
The company behind the Co-Op are submitting further plans this week to the Council’s licensing team. Plans have to be submitted by Wednesday (15th).
