Preston Bus has warned that Black Friday is causing ‘severe congestion’ in the city today (29th November).
The public transport firm took to Facebook this afternoon to warn travelers that some journeys are running up to 60 minutes.
According to the company, a mixture of Preston’s road works and a rush of traffic for the Black Friday sales have caused the traffic issues.
A spokesman said, “Preston City Centre is severely congested due to 2 major road work schemes in the city centre and sheer volume of traffic on ‘Black Friday’. Whilst journeys are operating, individual journeys are actually 30 – 60 minutes late, causing punctuality and reliability failings. All our drivers are doing their best in very difficult operating conditions.”
The spokesman also added that “on service 23 someone in their infinite wisdom has decided to commence works on Black Bull Lane, with temporary traffic lights reducing road space to one lane.”
