South Ribble Borough Council Give A Gift To Motorists This Christmas

South Ribble Borough Council are giving the gift of free parking this Christmas, as charges will ve stopped from Monday.

From next Monday, 9th December parking a South Ribble owned car parks will be free from 10am.

A South Ribble Borough Council spokesman said, “There will also be free parking all day on Saturday 23 November for the Leyland Christmas event in some of the South Ribble owned car parks in celebration of the festivities.

“For the Lostock Hall Christmas event on Thursday 5 December from 12 noon here will be free parking at the Hope Terrace Car Park.

“South Ribble Borough Council gives some of the cheapest parking in Lancashire with parking being £1 a day on Leyland Railway Station Car Park and £4 for the week.”

Jonathan Noad, Director of Planning and Property at South Ribble Borough Council added, “We are delighted to be supporting the community and boosting businesses by encouraging people to shop locally this Christmas.

“As a Council we hope the free parking will be an incentive to help increase footfall to local shops and we hope this proves to be as successful as in previous years.”

Thursday 5 December – Lostock Hall Christmas Event – From 12 noon

Saturday 23 November – Leyland Christmas Event – All day

Monday 9 December until Tuesday 24 December – Christmas Parking – From 10am
