Preston North End’s Josh Ginnelly has been linked with a loan move away from the club this month, according to a football ‘insider’.
The 72.co.uk reported that Ginnelly was being pursued by Bristol Rovers’ new boss Ben Garner.
Other clubs including, Tranmere and Wrexham are also apparently interested in taking the 22-year-old wide-man on a loan deal until the end of the season.
So far, Ginnelly has made just four appearances for North End this season. Only one of those appearances have come in the Championship, ironically against Rovers’ local rivals Bristol City back in September.
With the addition of Scott Sinclair coming in from Celtic, Ginnelly’s playing time doesn’t seem like it’s gonna improve any time.
Ginnelly began his career as a promising youngster in the Aston Villa youth system, but was soon released and taken on by Shrewsbury Town in 2013.
He quickly impressed for the youth side and was called up to the first team, eventually making his debut for the club in 2014, a 2-0 away win at Luton.
A loan move could provide Josh with the opportunity to impress and get some minutes under his belt to force his way back into Alex Neil’s plans next season.

Josh Ginnelly to Wrexham on loan? Yeah he might not be up to standard but Wrexham is a bit of an insult 😂 Would be perfect in league one
