Preston looks set to face a wet finish to the week before a brighter and sunnier spell over the weekend.
Temperatures today and tomorrow have bucked the trend for the average highs this month, reaching a peak of 10°C tomorrow afternoon.
Those temps will marginally decline over the weekend, but, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunnier days.
A Met Office spokesman said, “It will be mostly dry and breezy overnight. A few showers are possible over the hills, though these should fade away through the early hours.
“Turning a little chilly under the clear spells but becoming cloudier again towards dawn. Minimum temperature 2 °C.”
Outlook For Thursday:
After a dry and bright start, it will become increasingly cloudy with wet and windy weather arriving through the afternoon. Possible gales, particularly over the hills and around the coasts. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Unsettled Friday with heavy showers, some turning thundery with possible hail or snow over the hills. The weekend should be drier with plenty of sunshine. Turning colder with overnight frosts.
