Death Of Preston Man Believed To Not Be Suspicious

The death of a man in Preston is not believed to be suspicious.

Police were called around 7.45am yesterday (Saturday, February 8) to a report a man had been found unresponsive at an address in Balfour Road.

Emergency services attended where sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

While formal identification has yet to take place, he is believed to be a man in his 60s from Preston.

His death was initially treated as unexplained with three men later arrested.

A Home Office post mortem has since been conducted and established a provisional cause of death as head and neck injuries.

Det Ch Insp Becky Smith, of Lancashire Police, said: “Following extensive enquiries we are satisfied the man’s death is not suspicious.

“A post mortem has given the cause of death as head and neck injuries, which we believe is consistent with a fall.

“A file will be passed to the coroner in due course.

“Our thoughts remain with the man involved and his family at this sad time.”

Three men aged, 50, 31 and 29, all from Preston, earlier arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released no further action.
