12-Year-Old Preston Girl Racially Abused In Street Prompting Police Investigation

A Police investigation has been launched after a Preston girl was racially abused in the street.

The 12-year-old was walking down Fylde Road near the Adelphi roundabout last Saturday (20th) at around 6.15pm when the incident happened.

She was near the UCLan Student Union and close to the junction of Kirkham Street. It is alleged that a male in a passing car shouted racist abuse at the girl who was walking in the street at the time.

A post on Preston Police’s Facebook page said; “Hate crimes are taken very seriously, and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, particularly if you might have any dashcam footage, to come forward and assist with our enquiries.”

“We are eager to trace the driver of a small black hatchback which we have on CCTV in the area at the time. Our CCTV enquiries are ongoing.”
