REGIONAL: Blackpool Expected To Join Lancashire Lockdown After COVID Spike

Blackpool is expected to join Lancashire’s lockdown following the UK’s ‘second spike’ in Coronavirus cases.

The local authority for Blackpool is expected to confirm that the town will join the rest of the county in enforcing more restrictions, including a 10pm curfew.

Lancashire restrictions mean:

  • Residents must not socialise with other people outside of their own households or support bubble in private homes and gardens
  • Hospitality for food and drink will be restricted to table service only
  • Late night operating hours will be restricted, with Leisure and entertainment venues including restaurants, pubs, and cinemas, required to close between 10.00pm to 5.00am.

Reports suggest an official announcement is expected to be made later this afternoon (25th September).
