Preston commuters experienced heavy delays yesterday between Preston and Lancaster on the M6.
Motorists were sat in 1-hour delays yesterday (Friday) after a collision near Junction 33. Highways England reported that two lanes on the motorway were closed on the southbound between J 33 (Galgate) and junction 32 (Broughton interchange).
The crash happened around 6pm and led to four miles of congestion and delays of up to an hour.
It’s currently unknown how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
A spokesman for Highways England said: “If travelling in Lancashire near Lancaster please be aware there are long delays on the M6 southbound due to this collision. There are approx four miles of congestion back to Galgate which is likely to add 45-60mins onto usual travel times. Kendal and Carlisle motorists should plan ahead.”
