Trains yesterday (Thursday) were delayed after an incident in Garstang. A lorry got stuck under a bridge on Stubbins Lane.
All rail lines were stopped with delays and cancellations for over 90 minutes, preventing tired and stressed commuters from getting home.
Posting on social media, the National Rail said: “A road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Preston and Lancaster all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 22:30.”
Trans Pennine Express later tweeted the warning to their followers that trains may be cancelled or delayed.
