Police have arrested a man after a Tesco security guard suffered serious injured following a vicious knife attack.
The incident happened at Tesco Express on Longridge Road in Preston on Wednesday (7th October) at 9pm.
Police rushed to the scene after a man entered the store and attempted to steal alcohol. Security argued with the man before he pulled out a knife and attacked the guard.
The security guard suffered minor head and wrist injuries.
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from Preston. He is currently being held on charges of suspicion of robbery and assault.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said to The LEP: “It was reported a man had entered the shop and attempted to steal alcohol before assaulting a security guard using a knife.
“The guard suffered minor head and wrist injuries. Officers attended and detained a man at the scene.
“A 25-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault and is in custody.”
