Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was serious injured in a collision in Mere Brow yesterday (Friday, October 23rd).
It happened at around 2:55pm when the rider, 74, on a Triumph motorcycle, was travelling along the A565 Southport New Road from Southport in the direction of Preston, crashed into a kerb close to the junction with Moss Hey Lane, whilst attempting to overtake two vehicles.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious head injuries. He remains there in a serious condition.
The officer leading the investigation into the collision, Sgt Lee Harris, said: “Sadly, the motorcyclist is still very poorly in hospital and my thoughts remain with him and his family at this difficult time.
“We need anyone who was travelling along the road and saw what happened during this incident to get in contact, as it’s important that we understand how and why it occurred.
