Preston Police have seized a number of fireworks after complaints were made by Plungington residents.
Fireworks can be used in the UK any time from 7am to 11pm. Exceptions are: Bonfire night: 7am to midnight. New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year: 7am to 1am the following day.
The law says you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.
A Police spokesman said:
You reported it, we’re looking in to it. Residents around Plungington have reported youths setting off fireworks.
We’re still out looking, however have found a stash of fireworks on the Brook Street park. Seized and now off the streets.
