Preston faces a yellow weather warning from the MET Office for predicted heavy rainfall at the end of the week.
Rain and flooding is expected to cause travel disruption from midday Thursday 29th, October.
The MET Office Predicts:
A typically autumnal day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, often heavy and possibly thundery at times. Windy, especially in coastal areas and when showers come along. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Showers calming down through the evening and becoming less windy. Most areas becoming dry by the end of the night with some clear spells allowing a touch of ground frost. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
A band of rain spreading in from the west through the morning, covering the region by around midday. Brightening up by late afternoon, though with occasional showers to follow. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Sunny spells and blustery showers on Wednesday with a risk of coastal gales. Thursday and Friday staying unsettled with more prolonged spells of rain. Turning milder.
