BREAKING: Police arrest a male in Fishwick and seize a machete following reports of an incident.
A Police spokesman confirmed:
“Preston NPT Task Force Officers have attended an incident on Fishwick, where they detained a male in posession of this machete type knife.
“The male was arrested and is awaiting his day in court.”
Earlier this month Police announced they were conducting knife-sweeps across the City as part of a larger operation.
A Preston Police spokesman said on November 9th:
“This week marks the start of Operation Sceptre on knife crime. As part of our reassurance activity you’ll see us throughout the area carrying out weapon sweeps.
“This is part of the wider Lancashire Police Operation Edge initiative which has been in place for the last 18 months and works to reduce knife and violent crime in Lancashire.
“Operation Edge sees dedicated officers carrying out specific knife and violent crime prevention and enforcement activities in known hot spots in addition to carrying out intelligence-led initiatives.
