Tiger Belly is celebrating because it has been two years since the curry house first opened its doors on Blackpool Road.
The Indian restaurant opened on 22nd January 2019 and has been delighting customers with top quality fresh Indian cuisine ever since.
The owner and chef of Tiger Belly, Mostafa Kamal, was previously chef at Tiger Tiger in Blackpool Road at Lea, when that closed, he made the decision to open his own place:
“I used to work at Tiger Tiger but when that shut down, I decided to open a place of my own. I have worked in the industry for 22 years and I have gained a strong passion and knowledge in that time. Opening Tiger Belly allowed me to share the flavours that I have personally developed over the years.”
The Indian restaurant has very quickly built up an excellent reputation in the area for its quality and extensive range of dishes:
“We offer a very wide range of dishes to choose from, and we aim for the customer to be able to select their perfect curry and let them customize the dish to suit their palate.
“We have a few signature dishes which are very popular, Bangla Garlic, Garlic Chilli and Tandori King Prawn are a few of the favourites which customers love. In the future, we hope to offer even more new dishes.”
There are many happy customers that will tell you how much they enjoyed the food from Tiger Belly, one reviewer on Tripadvisor wrote:
“Top quality service and exceptional and delicious food every single time, welcoming and friendly. It’s a delight to pick up food or get a delivery. Service is fast, never wrong and the food tastes sensational. 5* all the way”
As with many places this past year, the Covid-19 Pandemic has taken a toll on Tiger Belly:
“During the first lockdown that started in March, business was still good for us but the second and third lockdown has taken its toll. It has affected people in different ways and not everyone can afford to spend money on restaurants and takeaways right now.”
