Since lockdown began, parents have faced not only adapting to working from home but providing education for their children. This added element can seem daunting, but with a little preparation there are many ways to make this easier for both you and your children.
Continuing learning during this second lockdown is incredibly important, but there is one question parents are asking; how can we keep children focused during their studies and also provide them with productive activities? Here are some simple tips from us.
Keep a Routine
Routines are one of the most important elements to succeed during lockdown. Without a routine you can easily become forgetful, lose concentration and lose motivation. The worst thing to do is get yourself stuck ion a bad routine you can’t get out of.
Try and stick to the regular school routine, whether this is getting up at the same time and having breakfast the same way you and your child would before school. Little similarities like this can make a huge difference.
Create a Schedule
Creating a schedule and timetable to stick to not only helps you keep organised, it also helps keep your children motivated with what they can achieve that day. Schools conduct timetables for pupils to understand what they are learning on each day at what time, this is just as important when studying from home.
By sticking to this you can keep to a regular routine you both can enjoy.
Exercise is imperative for not only increasing your child’s physical health, it’s also important for their mental health. Taking a break from their studies gives them time to refresh and prevents them feeling overwhelmed. Great exercises include walking, running, and cycling. It is estimated to aim for at least 60 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a day across the week.
