Community Gateway Association (CGA) will be holding an engagement event to hear from local people about the issues that matter to them.
On Saturday 1st May, CGA staff will be joined by the Neighbourhood Policing team, partner agencies and voluntary groups to hear the views of local people.
The engagement event will be held on Saturday 1st May, between 11am and 2pm on Samuel Street, Fishwick and St.Matthew’s, Preston outside Preston Community Hub, the old YMCA building.
Hannah McCusker, Tenancy Management Team Leader at CGA and one of the event organisers said:
“As the first Gateway organisation set up in the UK, we put our tenants firmly at the heart, so we are always keen to hear from local people about how we can better support them and how they can help shape our services, so please do come and speak with our community engagement team on Saturday to find out more.
“We also work closely with the Police, community leaders and local groups throughout the year to address anti-social behaviour (ASB) and make our communities safer places to live.
“This event will enable us to understand what concerns people have, so we can work together to resolve them. If people can’t come along on 1 t May but do want to report ASB or see how we tackle it, they can find out more by searching for anti-social behaviour on our website at www.communitygateway.co.uk.”
Inspector Emma Walker from Preston Police added: “We really want to engage with the local community, so if you have any issues please come and speak with us so we can address problems together.”
Taz, who runs Preston Community Hub at the heart of Fishwick, said: ‘We are really happy to be working in partnership with Community Gateway at this event. Our group was set up to serve the local community, so we are keen to find out what else people would like to see at the Hub”.
Hosts, Community Gateway are keen to listen to the views of as many people as possible so urge people to pop along. There will be freebies and lots of information on the day.
If people are unable to attend but would like more information about how to get involved with Community Gateway or the organisations it works with, they are invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org
